Dr Rumal Jayalath | MBBS FRACS
Dr Rumal Jayalath is an approachable, conscientious, and caring neurosurgeon who has established herself as a leading intracranial specialist. Dr Jayalath is highly regarded by her medical colleagues for her holistic approach to patient care and her technical expertise in complex brain surgery. Dr Jayalath’s practice encompasses all aspects of general neurosurgery, with a special interest in cerebrovascular surgery and brain tumours. She also has an interest in the care of the older patient with neurosurgical conditions.
Dr Jayalath is a Queensland graduate whose specialist Neurosurgical training was completed at leading centres around Australia, with additional training in cerebrovascular neurosurgery. Dr Jayalath has broad professional interests reflected in her many clinical roles. She is actively involved in teaching young neurosurgeons and is actively involved in neurosurgical research.
Dr Jayalath conducts her private practice with Queensland Neurosurgery & Spine Surgery at Ramsay Specialist Centre on the Greenslopes Private Hospital campus. She has clinical privileges at Brisbane Private Hospital and Mater Private Hospital. She is accessible and available and enjoys clinical discussion with colleagues regarding cooperative patient management.

Dr Paul Nichols MBBS FRACS
Dr Elena How MBBS FRACS
Dr How obtained her MBBS degree from the University of Queensland. She trained in neurosurgery centres in Queensland and New Zealand, with special interest in brain trauma and neuro-oncology. She did further fellowship training in Paediatric Neurosurgery at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne and completed a spine research fellowship in Brisbane. Dr How manages most general paediatric neurosurgical disorders. She is also heavily involved in the multidisciplinary management of epilepsy and is one of the few paediatric craniofacial neurosurgeons in Queensland.
With both advanced training in paediatric neurosurgery and spine, Dr How’s experience spans across an extensive age range, from neonates to adults and the elderly. With that comes her exposure to a wide spectrum of conditions such as trauma, paediatric and adult brain tumours, congenital and degenerative spinal disorders, congenital malformations and complex craniofacial syndromes.
